GAUTRAIN GOES GREEN ON SPRING DAY

In celebration of the first day of spring and as an Arbour Week gesture, Gautrain supported the planting of greenery at Free Me, a non-profit rehabilitation centre for indigenous wildlife based in the north of Johannesburg.

On 1 September, CEO of the Gautrain Management Agency, Jack van der Merwe (right), planted a monkey thorn tree.

Being the 2009 tree of the year, the monkey thorn tree is indigenous to Southern and Central Africa. Free Me CEO Hilary Millward (left) and Natalie Parker (right) also participated in the spring day festivities.
