I AM MOTIVATED

We have suffered, we have struggled to get one thing right
We cried and laughed with no faith
We did not sleep at night nor love to wake up in the morning
And feel the winter’s cold breeze

We fight against our people, tear things up as if that will lead us somewhere or give us a solution.

We’ve made our parents cry, instead of thanking them for who we are today.
We fought for ourselves and thanked our presidents,
We’ve never even for once thought of how life in South Africa is.

But now ‘cause I am motivated,
I can simply say thank you to all those who build something in me,
For those who did not want to change something they do not even know how to begin.
But they made something relevant:
The Gautrain
and not for themselves but for the whole of South Africa.
