CONVENIENT DOOR-TO-DOOR COMMUTING

When operations commence, it is estimated that Gautrain will be able to connect more than 100,000 passengers each day in all directions providing economic mobility and the convenience of door-to-door commuting.

The transport system will also comprise a fleet of modern city low-entrance buses with comfortable seating, as well as feeder and distribution services to and from the Gautrain stations.

Easy transfers will ensure further door-to-door convenience between the Gautrain network and other public transport systems. Compatible ticketing systems will facilitate transfers between Gautrain and other forms of public transport such as airplanes, taxis and Metrorail trains, with the new municipal Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) services to feature brand new bus stops within walking distance for commuters in high-density areas.

BRT services will also allow commuters from low-income areas to have equal access to the economically active regions serviced by Gautrain.

Soon, commuters will not have to experience the frustrations and delays as motorists associated with escalating traffic congestion.
