Passenger figures since the operation of the Gautrain service between Johannesburg and Tshwane has been beyond expectations. During the first week the number of passengers has steadily increased from 19 248 on the first day of operations to 41 883 on 9 August 2011. Several roads in the Rosebank CBD will be reinstated following diversions that have been in place since December 2006 to facilitate Gautrain construction.
