The Bombela team working on Gautrain construction in Centurion will be relocating various service utilities in the Centurion Central Business District (CBD). The work will commence on Wednesday, 12 March 2008 and is expected to be completed during April.
The relocation will have impact on traffic travelling in Hall Street, West Avenue and Von Willigh Road. Single lane closures will be implemented in these areas when necessary, and will take place during off-peak hours (09:00 – 15h00).
The relocation of utilities is part of Gautrain’s standard practice to relocate all services prior to construction works to ensure continued uninterrupted services during construction activities. This is also part of the Conditions of the Draft Final Environmental Management Plan (DFEMP) which has been approved by the Gauteng Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Environment (GDACE).
Residents in the surrounding areas are assured that no interruption to services will occur during the activity and are advised to exercise caution and take note of the temporary signage that will be erected during such lane closures.
For further information, the public is kindly advised to contact the Gautrain Call Centre on 0800 Gautrain (4288 7246) or visit the Gautrain website on www.gautrain.co.za.
