Last weekend Gautrain was delighted to welcome approximately 40,000 passengers onto the system. To accommodate these customers additional trains running at 8 to 10 minute intervals (instead of the normal Weekend Service interval of one train every 30 minutes) were inserted.
Passengers are advised that this weekend (the 19th and 20th June) the Gautrain will operate it’s normal Weekend Schedule with trains every 30 minutes only. This will allow us to implement some additional technical and operational measures which will enable us to increase the train services (as was done last weekend) on a more consistent basis in the future.
Should passenger demand be as high this weekend as it was last weekend, some queuing and delays may result. Passengers are requested to plan their journey’s accordingly.
