Gautrain Bus Service Interrupted Due to Strike Action

Posted on Aug 17, 2010 in Media Releases

Gautrain bus drivers have this morning embarked on an illegal strike related to wage demands.

The strike came without notice and in spite of an industry-wide wage agreement established earlier this year at the South African Road Passenger Bargaining Council which was implemented on the Gautrain bus service during April of this year.

The Gautrain Bus operating company, Mega Express, is engaging with the drivers in an effort to resolve the strike as soon as possible. Service updates will appear in the media and on the web at: www.gautrain.mobi and www.gautrain.co.za . Passengers are also referred to the Gautrain call centre : 0800 Gautrain / 0800 428 87246 for more information.

Gautrain’s train services are operating as normal.
